After working hard to make a switch for the vehicles, both the Mystery Machine and the VW camper van move forwards and backwards! Here’s how we made the switch:
We had to carefully use a ruler to measure 25cm from one end of an MDF wheel to the other, carefully adding a metal drawing pin to either side. We then used a hand drill to make a hole for the wire connection to fit through. We used a glue gun (with the help of Mr Dougill) to attach the battery pack to the wooden wheel and wrapped the wires around the metal pins.
We repeated this process with a second wheel, but this time the wire connected to the motor. We joined the two MDF wheels together (metal pins on the inside) with a piece of dowel. There we had it – a switch!
We tested the switch and our vehicles moved. We practiced moving the vehicles backwards and forwards and are very excited to test them properly!
